Portfolio Description

Located just a 40-minute drive from Reykjavík, the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is a must-visit destination in Iceland. Surrounded by a power station, visitors can enjoy a relaxing soak in its pale blue, naturally heated water.

Since its rise in popularity among locals in 1976, the Blue Lagoon has grown into a thriving industry, offering not only a unique bathing experience but also a shop selling skincare products, spa treatments, and dining options. The water, which is sourced from underground hot springs, is said to be highly beneficial for both health and skin, with temperatures ranging from 37-39 degrees Celsius.

In addition to bathing, visitors can also indulge in a mud mask made from minerals found in the lagoon’s tubs. To truly unwind, one can opt to stay at one of the two hotels located on site and spend a day at the Retreat Spa.

Getting to the Blue Lagoon is easy, with bus trips available from Reykjavik, or for those seeking a more adventurous experience, ATV tours are available.
